General information
Lotrisone is an antifungal and corticosteroid combination. It works by weakening the cell membrane of certain fungi. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-itching agent. Each gram of Lotrisone cream contains 10 mg of clotrimazole and 0.643 mg of betamethasone dipropionate (equivalent to 0.5 mg of betamethasone) in a white to off-white cream base.
Directions
Apply a thin layer of Lotrisone and gently rub it in completely.Do not cover treated skin areas with a bandage or tight clothing. After applying Lotrisone, allow your skin to dry completely before dressing.Do not use Lotrisone for longer than 2 weeks for jock itch or 4 weeks for athletes foot.
Precautions
Be careful of getting Lotrisone Cream into the eyes, immediately wash out with cool tap water.
This drug influence activity of the adrenal, hypothalamic also can lead to excessive blood sugar levels.May provoke insomnia, muscle weakness, paranoia, stretch marks, wasted limbs, and susceptibility to bruising, fractures.
Contraindications
Don't used it in children younger 17 and if you are allergic person. Take it carefully in age over 65.
Possible side effect
Local redness, stinging, blistering, peeling, swelling, itching, hives, and burning at the area of application may occur.Also it can be allergic reaction, bacterial infection, irritated skin, peeling, rash, stinging, swelling.
Drug interaction
Do a break for 1 week as it may cause the deterioration of psoriasis.
Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible, but if it is time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not use a double dose.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. An overdose of Lotrisone applied to the skin is expected to produce life-threatening symptoms.
Storage
Room tenperature between 59-77 F (15-25 C). Store away from moisture and light. Keep Lotrisone Cream out of the reach of children and pets.
